Baptist Female University was chartered past times the legislature of North Carolina inward 1891 together with the establishment opened inward Raleigh on September 27, 1899. The establishment enrolled 220 students inward preparatory, baccalaureate together with master’s programs during the rootage year. Its rootage graduating shape of 10 women inward 1902 [one was awarded a M.A. score together with ix received B.A. degrees], who became known equally “The Immortal Ten.”
In 1905, the mention of the establishment was changed to Baptist University for Women together with inward 1909, to Meredith College.
