The establishment was initially founded inward 1826 every moment Fredonia Academy. In 1866 the university merged amongst the novel soil supported Fredonia Normal School. The advert changed to Fredonia State Teachers College inward the 1940's in addition to the establishment joined the State University of New York System inward 1948.
